Positive Psychology Life Coach

“It’s amazing to be part of someone’s shift from internally struggling to feeling great about themselves.”

  1. What is your current occupation?

I’m a Positive Psychology Life Coach specializing in relationships which is a long way to say I help people, primarily women, who are struggling in their relationships find happiness so they can love their relationship and life. My clients tend to fall into one of 3 buckets; committed to their spouse but feeling unhappy (feeling unfulfilled, negative cycles in their relationship that keep playing out, etc.) and want to do something positive about it to increase their happiness and bring fun and intimacy back. Many women are privately asking themselves the question “should I stay or should I go?”, which is a really tough and often scary question to answer.  The third bucket are women wanting to recover and thrive after the end of a relationship.  Ultimately I help women look at what they want in their primary relationship so they can  feel great and love their life. Couples coaching is another part of my practice which is an awesome alternative to traditional marriage counseling. One of our primary goals in couples coaching is to make improving your relationship fun and something to be proud of.  We don’t dwell on what’s not working, instead we focus on creating a relationship that feels great for both.

  1. What do you love most about your job and why?

I love when my clients start to view things differently and realize the power they have to improve their life. It’s amazing to be part of someone’s shift from internally struggling to feeling great about themselves. I’m always inspired watching them thrive and lead happier lives.

  1. What has changed in your industry in the past five years?

Coaching vs. Therapy. People don’t understand the power of coaching.  The positive psychology piece that I offer provides amazing resources for people to make remarkably small shifts that create huge benefit. In my practice I help clients look at  their strengths, what they really want and create a plan to make it happen. We focus on their future, not their past.

  1. How has CapeSpace improved your work life?

Client sessions are by phone which is awesome because it enables my clients to work with me regardless of their location, they can live anywhere (Europe, Puerto Rico, all over the US).  It also allows my clients anonymity which is often a relief when exploring relationship issues.  Working out of Cape Space allows me to enjoy working around other professionals on days when I’m writing or taking care of the administrative side of my business.

      5. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Anything on the water! Kayaking, SUP, boating (I used to live PT on a sail boat I had years ago).

  1. What is your favorite place on Cape Cod?

The view from my home. I’m fortunate to overlook the mouth of Falmouth harbor and enjoy watching the boats come and go.

  1. If you could invite any three people living or dead to a dinner party who would they be and why?

Brene Brown, she inspires me. She takes really private struggles like shame and brings light and laughter to them. Oprah, I’d love to share with her how I help empower women. Princess Diana, what can I say, she’d have been an amazing client!

  1. What is your superpower?

Intuition, compassion and an uncanny ability to meet people where they are emotionally. My clients refer to me as the judgement free zone and know they are safe to share anything with me.
